Legacy ALPINE Support

Frequently asked questions for earlier ALPINE models.

Practical troubleshooting, maintenance guidance and ownership tips for earlier-generation ALPINE Campers and hybrid models.

How often should I repack wheel bearings?

Every 5,000km under normal conditions, or sooner after water crossings, beach driving or extended rough-road touring.

Should I carry spare wheel bearings?

Not normally required for standard touring, however remote-area travel may justify carrying pre-greased spare bearings and seals.

What maintenance does Cruisemaster suspension require?

Inspect alignment, tyre wear, bolt torque, bushes, brake pads and wheel bearings regularly. Uneven tyre wear can indicate alignment issues.

What pressure should I use in the airbags?

Follow the ride-height guide inside the wheel arch and avoid exceeding manufacturer recommendations.

Why won’t my water pump turn off?

The tank may be empty or air may be trapped in the line. Refill tanks and run taps until flow becomes steady.

Why is my water flow weak?

Check tank levels, filters, fittings and taps for leaks or restrictions.

Should I use an inline water filter?

Yes — especially when filling from remote or unfamiliar water sources.

Why won’t my Redvision screen turn on?

The panel may be locked. Press the main power button twice to unlock the system.

Why do I have no 12V power?

Check battery charge levels, charging systems and system lock status.

Why is my solar input not showing correctly?

Additional solar controllers may bypass factory indicators. Use the Victron or Enerdrive apps where fitted for accurate monitoring.

How do I minimise condensation?

Open roof vents slightly and use window ventilation where possible to improve airflow.

Should I use a caravan cover?

Yes — breathable waterproof covers help minimise UV and weather damage during long-term storage.

Why is dust entering the camper?

Ensure pop-top vinyl windows are fully zipped closed and door seals are adjusted correctly.

Servicing Standards

Keep your ALPINE serviced properly.

Routine servicing helps protect towing safety, suspension performance, braking reliability and long-term ownership confidence.

Use a reputable service agent.

ALPINE recommends using a reputable caravan, trailer or 4WD service agent familiar with off-road suspension, electric brakes, wheel bearings and heavy-duty towing components.

Wheel bearings

Inspect and repack bearings at regular intervals, especially after water crossings, beach driving, rough roads or extended touring.

02

Brakes & breakaway

Check electric brakes, brake wiring, brake controller operation and the breakaway system before major travel.

03

Suspension & alignment

Inspect suspension, airbag lines (if fitted), bushes, bolts, tyre wear, camber, toe and general suspension condition.

04

DO35, jockey wheel & safety chains

Grease and inspect the DO35 coupling, check ARK jockey wheel operation and inspect safety chains, shackles and attachment points.

Document your servicing

Keep records, photos and invoices from servicing. This helps with future support, warranty assessment and long-term ownership history.

ALPINE Cleaning & Exterior Care

Cleaning & Exterior Care

Keep your ALPINE looking its best.

Regular cleaning and preventative care helps protect composite panels, touring hardware, suspension components and exterior finishes after long-distance and off-grid travel.

01

Composite body cleaning

Wash insulated composite panels regularly using mild automotive soap and soft washing equipment. Avoid harsh chemicals, aggressive polishing compounds or abrasive brushes.

02

After beach & coastal travel

Thoroughly rinse the chassis, suspension, brakes, undercarriage and exposed metal surfaces with fresh water after beach or salt-air touring.

03

Solar panel maintenance

Keep solar panels clean and free from dust, leaves and heavy dirt build-up to help maintain charging efficiency during off-grid touring.

04

Speedliner coating care

If fitted with optional Speedliner protection coatings, wash using mild soap and avoid strong solvent-based cleaning products or aggressive pressure washing at close range.

05

Hatch locks & hinges

Periodically lubricate locks, hinges, catches and moving hardware to help maintain smooth operation and reduce wear from dust and environmental exposure.

06

Interior upholstery & surfaces

Clean imitation leather upholstery with mild soap and a damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, excessive moisture and direct long-term UV exposure where possible.
